Day 7 - Getting There

Filed under: Poker Challenge — admin at 9:56 am on Sunday, April 22, 2007

Today i decided to try out the $1/2 limit action at Ladbrokes. I started out playing a couple of 6 man tables, if i was playing no-limit i would of stuck to 1 table, but limit action seems to be much slower then no-limit action. I started very well, considering this was a move up in limits and a different holdem variation then the no-limit action I’m used to. I made $18 in the first 20 minutes at one table, there was some extremely loose players, raising with low pocket pairs and continuing the betting action after the flop, which they’d rarely hit.

I played a lot of high cards, and could down on the amount of “flush chasing” I would do. I didn’t feel i would get paid even if i hit a flush, so went against that. This is something a lot of players seem to do, chase draws against pot-odd’s and implied odd’s, which i will talk about later.

Anyway 2 hours later after playing 135 hands at 2 tables i made a measly $12. Tomorrow I’ll hit the no-limit tables and see if my lucks in.

Bankroll: $1239
