Multi-Tabling For Bigger Profits

Filed under: Poker Challenge — admin at 9:52 am on Friday, March 7, 2008

It’s been a while since my last bankroll update but since then i have played a lot of tournaments, over 600 in just under a month and i haven’t even been playing every day. There have been big discussions about when you should be sacrificing quantity for quality (i.e if its worth multi-tabling knowing your “edge” will take a drop) and this can often take a lot of “fiddling” with to find when you optimize your win rate.

I experimented playing 2 or 3 at a time and quickly discovered i could easily manage playing 3 tables at a time. And with this i could still hold my concentration. Will try and post actual stats at a later date.

Bankroll Update

Filed under: Poker Challenge — admin at 6:35 pm on Monday, November 26, 2007

It’s been a while since i last posted about how my bankroll challenge is going. Well since the last post i have been able to play quite a few sit and go’s and with the help of the SNG PRO video’s i have been able to break a smallish profit. I have played a mixture of $10 and $20 sit and go’s on Fulltilt Poker. I’m sure my game is improving although i only have managed a small profit i have felt comfortable playing at that level. I have made just under $170 since my last update from playing at fulltilt poker.

Interesting Poker Hand

Filed under: Poker Challenge, PokerMunch Articles — admin at 10:40 pm on Thursday, November 1, 2007

Just finished a $20 sit and go and need some of your expert opinions on how i played a hand. The blinds where at $50/$100 i am on the button. It is 5 handed, from the original 6 players. All of us have a relatively similar stack, it is folded to me. I raise to $300, and get a flat call from the big blind. The flop comes down 3,7, J all of clubs. My opponent makes a very quick check, fearing the 4th club coming i place a bet out for 400 into the $650 pot, after a long pause he finally called. The next card was a 4 of hearts. He then immediately pushed. I hesitated for 5-10 seconds and called. He showed 5-6 off suit.

Do you think i played this correctly? Was it possible to get away from?

Hitting The Tables Hard

As you probably read in my last post i took a break from poker  over the last  2 weeks i returned to the tables and with that have had 4 exceptional sessions in which i finished with at least a full buy-in more then i started with.  I have been playing pretty much exclusively at fulltilt poker which has helped my bankroll as i got a $600 bonus as soon as i deposited. I have currently cleared $220 of this bonus, as well as having made $150 at the 25cent/50cent 6 man tables in the past 2 weeks. FulltiltPoker.Com seem’s to have some pretty good players, although with a little searching it is easy to find some loose players, who will kindly donate money to you with king-high calls. If you’d like to play against me please email me at admin@pokermunch.com but remember to take it easy on me ;)

Poker Break

Filed under: Poker Challenge — admin at 5:54 pm on Sunday, September 23, 2007

As you can tell i haven’t posted recently, i decided to take a break from poker whilst i went traveling in Australia. The fact that i didn’t have a good internet connection also played a part. So thats a month without any poker action apart from a game of heads up against a friend on the plane there and in a hotel. I managed to pick up a copy of bluff magazine which made for interesting reading in regards to the WSOP and the recent WSOPE, i’ll probably enter some of the smaller events next year as long as i can:

a) Get the money together

b) Get the time of work

Assuming i can get time of work and get the money together i’ll be there next year, probably joining a 6man NL Holdem event. The thought of entering that motivates me more to develop my game and go try out some live play at local casino’s.
