Day 22 and 23

Filed under: Poker Challenge — admin at 5:51 pm on Thursday, May 31, 2007

Since last update, i have played a few MTT’s (Multi-Table Tournaments) and have been successful. As i am not experienced i have been sticking to small tournaments, $10 and below, and have made a profit overall. I entered a $5.50 tournament, and won $17, which was a nice start. This was followed by a couple of tournaments which i didn’t cash in. Both a $3.30 and a $5.50. I later cashed in a $3.30 for $8, which brought my total won to $25 around a $7 profit, which i think is good for the limit’s i played. I’m hoping to play some higher limit tournaments but want to get some more practice in first. I have a $5.50 lined up for tonight, which im hoping will give me some more much needed experience.

Day 21 Broke Even

Filed under: Poker Challenge — admin at 5:11 pm on Sunday, May 27, 2007

Well after the last update, i was very pleased with how i had played, I’m a firm believer in that your mind must be “right” to play poker. And not playing poker when your intoxicated, tired, angry or just don’t feel like playing. However much i enjoy playing there is times when i just don’t feel like playing, something that i never used to feel. A year ago, I would of played poker all day if i could, but now I play around a quarter of what i did back then. I still play at least 15 hours a week, but i don’t have set times that I’ll play anymore.

I decided to play a bit last night for a couple of hours, I played a 10 man sit and go as well as playing a cash game, and managed to squeeze out a second in the sit and go, which won me $19, which is minus the $11 entry fee. I played another one after this, and although i played better then i did for the first i came 6th after a bad beat involving a pocket pair outdrawing my over pair. I still showed a profit for these two sit and go’s, $8. Which i managed to lose on a cash game whilst playing the sit and go’s so i effectively broke even. I’m hoping to play tomorrow as it’s a bank holiday in England and i have the day off.

Good Luck at the tables.

Day 20 Refocused

Filed under: Poker Challenge — admin at 2:04 pm on Thursday, May 24, 2007

Well since the late night poker session, i have been more determined then ever to make all of the money I lost back. I started with just the $77 i had left in my account, and played the 10cent/20cent no limit games they offered. I admit i played a little different then i usually would and gambled a little bit, but these certainly paid off. I was up to $100 in no time, from some all-in’s with my low pocket pair’s holding up against people’s Ace-Jack’s. When i hit the $100 mark i decided to play a few 6-man $10 sit and go tournaments which i twice, two times in a row. Which made me a $9 profit each time, the payouts are $40 for first and $20 for second, for a $11 buy-in ($10 - prize $1 - rake)

This brought me up to $117, which i was happy with, and feels much, much better then waking up to a account with a near $250 loss! Now hopefully i can remain on this good form, and win some more money tomorrow.

Good Luck at the tables People.

Day 19 Late night session

Filed under: Poker Challenge — admin at 9:20 am on Sunday, May 20, 2007

Well last night was pretty much a disaster. After drinking for 2-3 hours i hit the tables, playing 50cent/1dollar no limit holdem on Carbon Poker. Luckily i only had $300 odd on the account and this probably saved a large amount of my bankroll. Whenever i drink i tend to play over aggressively and i think this is what happened. I promised myself that i wouldn’t play poker after drinking but i ended up doing it, like always, and it reminds me that i still haven’t got the discipline i so desperately need if i am going to make my million. When i woke up this morning i found my account on Carbon Poker holding only $76, but i suppose it could have been worse, i could of lost it all!

Day 18

Filed under: Poker Challenge — admin at 5:01 pm on Friday, May 18, 2007

Well this is just a quick update of how my mission of turning my initial bankroll of $1000 in to $1,000,000 through online poker. I have stuck to playing at CarbonPoker, I have talked about why i like this site here and my good run has continued and i won another $67 today, at the 25cent/50cent tables, playing no-limit hold’em. The day started badly, when i lost $30 of my $50 buy-in. So i sat with $20, when i hit a monster (i wish i had added $30 to my chip stack), i had a full house with my pocket 4’s catching trips on the flop.

I was heads up in this pot, and checked, hoping to be raised. He followed my check and the next card dealt was a queen, which gave me a full house. This time i decided to bet $3, in to the $2 pot. He then raised me to $6, not wanting to scare him of off the pot i flat called. The river gave a 3, and i decided to bet $12, making it look like a poor attempt to steal the pot, he called this bet almost instantly, and i won the pot.

I then took $30 to 2 6-man tables, and played for a further 3 hours, and ended the day with a decent profit, $67. Play with me at CarbonPoker, and Email me your account name at admin@pokermunch.com and i will email you my account name.
